Shouldn’t ’time off’ be called ’time on’?

Don’t think I’ve ever meditated in a nicer, more calming, spot than I did this summer in beautiful Croatia. I wanted to write something about taking time off etc. and wasn’t sure whether to spell this with one f or two (okay, so I haven’t had coffee just yet..).
This is what The Google presented to me: “a period of time when you do not work because of illness or holidays, or because your employer has given you permission to do something else: take/have time off. One in five employees admits to taking time off because of stress.”
What I wanted to write about is something I notice the most when I take time ‘off’; and that is, how brainwashed we are.. why is it called ‘time off’? If anything, it should be called ‘time on’ because most of us power through days hardly remembering what we had for lunch. Truth be told, it took me two days for sure to slow down to this level of relaxation but come on.. like life is about work and some weeks (if you’re very ‘lucky’) where you get to recover??
We’re taught we should face reality. We’re taught we can’t have a win-win. There’s always some kind of suffering that we have to endure.. and as I’m also still trying to unlearn many things I was taught (for example by a school system that is not created to bring out the best in you, go figure..), I do notice that being a human being rather than a human doing (on the go 24/7) always always always connects me to this inner knowing. It’s very soothing. Your inner sat nav knooows what we’re fed is a non truth plenty of times.
Ask yourself what beliefs you’ve started to believe? And whose agenda may benefit from this?
I’m living proof that you don’t need a stable, happy and supportive childhood to get to being a stable, happy and able to support adult. I also belief in things I’d like to achieve and always try to let go of the how. The how is up to Universe. It can provide in ways we literally can’t even dream of.
And yes, I’m writing this from a very privileged place. More work for years to come than I’ll be able to take on, healthy, sitting on this beautiful rock in a beautiful part of the world.. but is this privilege, really? Or maybe partially also a bit (big bit ) of ‘just’ believing life can be and is absolutely amazing, ups and downs included.
